The idea of a special day to honor fathers and celebrate fatherhood started here in the USA. A woman called Sonora Smart Dodd was inspired by the American Mother’s Day celebrations to plan a day to honor fathers.
Fair’s fair, right? Dad’s deserve to be treated and pampered a bit. They do so much and are the backbones of the family. Here’s a poem dedicated to dear old Dad.
Father’s Day has been celebrated in June since 1910 and this year Plano and the DFW area have some wonderful events for Dad to enjoy.
