There’s a lot to learn about Legacy West, the 240-acre mixed-use project located on the southwest corner of the Dallas North Tollway and State Highway 121 in the Dallas suburb our beautiful Plano, Texas. Did you know that it was J.C. Penney who selected Team Legacy, a development partnership with KDC, The Karahan Cos., and Columbus Realty, to develop the acreage surrounding its corporate headquarters? That’s impressive when you think about it. When most of us think of J.C. Penny’s we think of towels and back-to-school clothes, but they’re really a big hitter in the real estate world. And that’s just part of it. In fact, there’s so much to learn, that Legacy West has developed its own podcast which airs bi-monthly and covers a wide range of topics including fashion and beauty, food and drink, wellness and nutrition, and home and interior design.
Pretty exciting considering all that’s happening at Legacy West, a podcast is a fantastic way to keep up with all the news. This type of podcast is the first of its kind in the country which makes Legacy West revolutionary on yet another front.
What is a podcast?
Now we’re pretty sure everyone knows what a podcast is, but we figured we’d add some info on the media forum and give some direction on how to access them, just in case you want to fully take advantages of all podcasts have to offer, which is, quite a bit.
A podcast can be best described as on-demand internet radio talk show or segment.
The word “podcast” is a portmanteau, a combination of the words pod and broadcast where ‘pod’ refers to iPod devices and implies that this content is portable so you can listen to it anywhere you go. The second word, ‘broadcast’ is inspired by the medium of radio as podcast content can be consumed exactly the same way.
These tracks are typically audio recordings of a conversation between a host and a guest speaker, just like the ones you can listen to on the radio, or a single monologue of a person sharing his or her thoughts.
The topics of the content can practically be anything from business and marketing to travel and yoga and so on. Many people find podcasts especially helpful when they study a particular discipline and they use podcasts to listen to experts in the field share relevant information on different topics.
Podcasts are usually housed as media files on the websites of the internet stations that host them, the sites of the hosts themselves, the authors or guests can share them on their site as well as fans and advertisers who share them via social media. Sources like iTunes house mass libraries of podcasts for you to download or stream on your device.
Nowadays, podcasts are the most popular form of consuming audio content on-the-go. Besides your desktop computer, you can listen to these audios on your iPhone or Android device, mp3 player, iPod, tablet, or any portable digital device.
Legacy West’s podcast
An article recently posted on CISION PRNewswire website about the premiering podcast. Here’s what was written about its hosts Victoria Snee and Gabriel Roxas:
Hosts of Legacy West Podcast are Victoria Snee and Gabriel Roxas, both former Dallas television reporters. Snee—Director of Marketing at Legacy West—is an AP Award-winning entertainment and lifestyle correspondent who spent more than a decade working as an entertainment and lifestyle reporter in top markets across the country. Before joining Legacy West, Snee led marketing at NorthPark, where sales exceeded $1.3 billion under her direction.
Roxas—Director of Consumer Engagement at Legacy West—is an Emmy award-winning storyteller who reported news nationwide, most recently for CBS in Dallas, where he covered the development of Legacy West.
Snee couldn’t be more excited about the launch of the show. “Legacy West Podcast is an incredible platform to help us reach our regular customers and those who are new to our beautiful shopping center on a personal, intimate level. We are thrilled to provide our listeners with informative, fun, and entertaining content.”
“The building of Legacy West was one of the most exciting stories I had the opportunity to cover,” Roxas said, “Now I look forward to sharing with listeners the most interesting stories about what has become the gold standard for mixed use development.”
Those are some pretty impressive resumes for the hosts, and with experience like that backing the podcast, it’s bound to both be professional and informative. It’s really a great idea if you sit and think about it. We McCoys have been writing about Legacy West and all that’s been happening from events like the opening of Toyota’s new headquarters, to breaking ground at the LVL29 Luxury Apartment Tower, to the opening of Legacy Food Hall and even our own journey of building a home from concept at the Villas at Legacy West for about 18 months now and what we have learned is that there is always something new and exciting happening at this development everywhere you turn!
